Digital Innovation and Social Change (DISC)
The aim of this Bachelor program at the University of Amsterdam is to teach how to develop sustainable digital interventions that help address societal problems, under the understanding that societal issues and digital developments are inherently complex, and those simplistic solutions may do more harm than good. To realize this aim, we use a problem-based approach that enables students to work in an interdisciplinary way, covering and increasingly integrating the different learning trajectories. To prepare students for an ever-changing digital world, we also apply an inquiry-based learning methodology in which students learn from the beginning to design and implement their own approaches to digital technology.
